trkx started out in 2017 with a simple mission: build a place where athletes can come, learn and improve their skills in an action sport.
Growing up, my cousin and I were very into playing all types of sports. We spent summers learning how to skateboard and later progressed to freestyle BMX. We attempted tricks in my uncle’s driveway, mimicking what we saw on the internet and on the streets. As a treat, our parents would drive us to the nearest outdoor public skatepark to show off our skills and practice on different obstacles.
At the time, I didn’t realize what limited opportunity existed to be taught action sports. Organized sports have always had coaches to instruct and improve players which is missing in action spots. We couldn’t practice when it was raining or too hot or cold. It was an accomplishment to be self taught given these conditions, but I always wonder to this day what kind of athlete I could have been if I had someone to teach and motivate me more.
In 2017 I founded trkx with the simple goal: build a place where athletes can come, learn and improve their skills in an action sport. Our mission is to cultivate that spark within athletes that motivates them to pursue their passion in action sports by creating safe and structured indoor skatepark experiences.
This is my promise to all athletes that visit trkx skatepark.
