skateboarding

is an action sport in which an athlete rides standing balanced on a board mounted on wheels. Skateboarding originated in California circa 1949 when surfers experienced flat waves and needed something to do in those times. This era was called sidewalk surfing and ultimately grew into street skateboarding and vertical skateboarding we know today. As of 2020, skateboarding is now an official event at the Olympics. To learn more about the skateboarding curriculum, see our lesson plan.

freestyle BMXing

is an action sport in which an athlete rides a BMX (bicycle + motocross (x = the merge)) bike and performs tricks. The early documentation of this sport was in the early 1970s. There are several types of freestyle BMXing which include: street, park, vertical ramp, trails and flatland. As of 2020, BMXing park is now an official event at the Olympics. To learn more about our BMXing curriculum, see our lesson plan.

scootering

is an action sport in which an athlete uses a kick scooter to perform freestyle tricks. Freestyle scootering gained popularity following the RAZOR (kick scooter brand) craze in the early 2000s. To learn more about our scootering curriculum, see our lesson plan.

inline skating

is an action sport in which a person uses skates that are designed in one row to perform tricks such as grinds and jumps. The earliest inline skating can be dated back to the early 1980s in which a group of hockey players were looking for a way to practice during the summer. The first skates designed for performance and tricks were designed by Rollerblade and were introduced in 1988. Each year, there are the World Roller Games & X Games where athletes compete at the professional level. To learn more about our inline skating curriculum, see our lesson plan.

If it’s their first time, the parent or guardian must call us directly at +1(862)419-3275. We will ask you to provide the identification of the parent/guardian & the identification of the adult coming to pick up the athlete.

Firstly, welcome! You should arrive about 15 minutes before your session and make sure to bring a parent or guardian with you. Your parent and/or guardian will have to fill out some details on our iPads if they haven’t done so prior to coming to our skatepark. Parents will head to our viewing area and you’ll head to our “gear up” section. Since it’s your first time, all equipment is included so you don’t have to bring anything besides sneakers. You will then be sized appropriately for safety equipment like helmets, elbow pads, knee pads, & wrist guards. You will then be provided with your main equipment like a skateboard, bike, scooter, blades, or skates. Mouth guards are strongly recommended. Once you’re geared up, it’s time to have fun in your group session!
You had an awesome experience at trkx now you’re ready to go. Once your parents arrive, they will have to check you out using our iPads. Once you’re checked out, see you next time!
